Manchester United trio send sympathy to injured Danny Welbeck, striker in hospital

The Arsenal forward attempted to get back up but was unable to do so on his own, prompting Arsenal medics to rush to his aid.

Still images of the incident showed Welbeck's right ankle caught underneath him in an awkward position as his body went to ground.

Welbeck's teammates' reactions spoke volumes as he was attended to by physios on the pitch at the Emirates.

Welbeck has struggled with injuries in recent times but Iwobi hopes to see the Englishman back on the pitch as soon as possible.

Following the match, which ended 0-0, Emery confirmed Welbeck had been taken to hospital for further treatment.

Meanwhile, fellow Arsenal star Ozil tweeted his support to the England global. "His injury was with the mentality of the players".

Saints excited to welcome Dez Bryant
Bryant visited New Orleans on Monday, working out with fellow wideouts Brandon Marshall and Kamar Aiken. During the preseason, Bryant had been inside the Browns facility but Cleveland elected not to sign him.

"When one player suffers an injury like that the mind thinks of the player first".

"It's very challenging mentally, but sometimes it comes in the game and there's been a lot of injuries, and unfortunately for Danny he's had a few so we're going to wish him the best", he stated.

Arsenal's players, most notably Guendouzi, were clearly moved by seeing their team-mate in pain and the half did not really flow again. "I think the players were concentrated for the match but when we finished the first thing was to ask about him [Welbeck]".

"But when you are playing football in competitive matches it can happen".

Arsenal revealed later that the 27-year-old has been taken to hospital, and coach Unai Emery described the injury as "the worst news" of the night in a press conference. "Will need [to be] imaged #AFC".
