Boston gangster James ‘Whitey’ Bulger killed in West Virginia prison

Bulger had just arrived at Hazelton on Monday.

Bulger was killed in the U.S. Penitentiary Hazelton in West Virginia, a maximum security prison, where he was transferred to shortly after spending time in an Oklahoma prison, according to the Boston Herald.

The 89-year-old Bulger had recently been moved from a prison in Florida to a transfer facility in Oklahoma City.

As Radar previously reported, the former Boston-based crime boss was finally captured in 2011, after more than 16 years on the run.

Bulger was sentenced to life in prison for 11 murders.

The details of his death have not been announced, but a local union official for correctional workers at the prison told CBS that a "homicide" occurred on Tuesday morning.

Unai Emery delivers injury update on Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny
Meanwhile, Leicester manager Claude Puel insists he always knew Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette would come good. "But after six matches winning in the Premier League, it hasn't changed".

"The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of West Virginia and the FBI will be conducting an investigation into the death of James Bulger".

"Bulger embarked upon a life of crime at the age of 14 and had become a prominent figure in Boston's organized crime scene by the late 1970s". His younger brother, William Bulger, became one of the most powerful politicians in MA, leading the state Senate for 17 years. It's unclear if authorities have determined who played a role in the murder.

"You could go back in the annals of criminal history and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone as diabolical as Bulger", said Duffy.

Prosecutors said that Greig had numerous opportunities to leave Bulger or report him, but she never did.

His legend only grew as Bulger evaded arrest after his disappearance, with endless reported sightings around the US and the world.

She is now behind bars at a federal women's prison in Minnesota serving an eight-year sentence.
