Pakistan face Australia with Twenty20 top ranking at stake

Pakistan Cricket team recorded a dominant victory to go 1-0 up as Australia's top-order and middle-order crumbled in the first of the three-match T20I series. It is also their third-lowest score ever in T20 internationals, right behind their 79 runs against England in 2005 at Southampton and 86 runs against India in 2014. Faheem Ashraf and Shaheen Afridi picked up two wickets each while Haasan Ali too chipped in with the key wicket of Ashton Agar, the second-highest scorer of the innings.

Pakistan, being sent to bat first, scored 155/8 with Babar Azam scoring a half-century. They crossed the 50-run mark in 7.1 overs and 100 in 12.3 overs when Mohammed Hafeez hoisted leg spinner Adam Zampa over the long-off fence.

Some lusty blows from Hasan Ali (17) in the final over, bowled by Nathan Coulter-Nile, helped Pakistan cross 150.

The trophy was designed in honour of the T20 series sponsors, biscuit-maker TUC, with captains Sarfraz Ahmed and Aaron Finch posing light-heartedly with the trophy ahead of the start of the series on Thursday.

"Absolutely they'll be looking at changes", Finch said.

While talking about the tragic defeat, Finch said "That Powerplay was horrific...it was like a vehicle crash in slow motion", and added, "Opening the batting, it's my responsibility to get us off to a good start and set up the chase there".

Neymar next club: Barcelona deny Neymar return reports
For now, things are unclear for Neymar Jr. and we will have to wait till the end of the season to know how things unfold. He told radio stationSER Catalunya: "The Barcelona board has not considered the possibility of bringing back Neymar ".

Set 156 to win after Pakistan posted 8/155 from its 20 overs, led by Babar Azam's 68 not out and 39 from Mohammad Hafeez, Australia was never in the hunt.

Each of Australia's top four batsmen were bowled and Chris Lynn (14) was the only member of the top six to reach double digits in a 66-run defeat in which Australia posted their equal third-lowest total in a T20 worldwide.

The second match of the three-game series will be played in Dubai on October 26.

Their bowling stood out though, with Billy Stanlake and Andrew Tye picking up six wickets between them to restrict Pakistan after the hosts had gotten off to a flyer.

With Steve Smith and David Warner suspended, Australia undoubtedly had brought together the best batting line-up they had in D'Arcy Short, Aaron Finch, Chris Lynn and Glenn Maxwell.
