Red Bull turns on F1 ace Daniel Ricciardo

Australian F1 star Daniel Ricciardo revealed why he quit Red Bull for Renault - and reveals his real feelings about his hotshot Dutch teammate Max Verstappen.

Red Bull announced on Monday that Pierre Gasly will partner Max Verstappen for the 2019 season, the Frenchman joining them from junior team Toro Rosso.

Formula 1's off track dramas have continued in the built-up to the Belgian Grand Prix this weekend with a row erupting between outgoing McLaren driver Fernando Alonso and Red Bull boss Christian Horner.

Red Bull hasn't been able to compete with the two top sides, falling well behind in the constructors' championship in recent times, which has contributed to Ricciardo's choice to leave. We don't have to a 9-5 job and we're not going to the same office every day but so many years of going to the same factory or whatever, that routine, I felt my enjoyment of the sport was becoming a little bit, I don't know, dulled down, a bit numb at times.

"I have a contract for two years, but the intention is to stay longer and achieve successes together".

The tension with Red Bull won't be alleviated by Alonso's behaviour in Friday's press conference. The Indy 500 I felt competitive past year, and there are other series that can put you in a different level in motorsport, if you can win with different cars, in different series.

"To be the best driver in the world there are two possibilities: winning eight world championships - quite unlikely now for me - and the second is to taste different series and different cars".

"But it was the best I could do so I called Christian (Horner)".

"But the third time he told me I realised it was for real and you just have to wish him well". "That was a very unusual story", Marko said on the Red Bull's in-house TV channel, Servus TV. It's hard to disconnect when you know that there is a seat available in Red Bull but I just tried to enjoy my break.

Michael Cohen , President Donald Trump's former personal attorney and fixer, exits federal court, 21 August 2018 in New York City. The people described Trump as somber but calm and added that he said nothing critical about Manafort or Cohen.

"Once I made that decision and pulled the trigger I felt comfortable with it and it feels right for next year ..."

"Life also taught me in the past how things may change".

"What I appreciate is the fact that Daniel has his position, he has his agenda, he has his situation, which I don't want to comment on", Abiteboul told Motorsport.com.

"In Hungary, he said to both me and Mr. Mateschitz that everything fits, and he'll sign on Tuesday at the test".

"And the F1 we're seeing now was maybe not the F1 I dreamed of as a kid or when I joined in 2001".

"There was back and forth over the last few months". "I just started speaking to Yamamoto about that".

"The way the momentum had been going, we'd been talking since February about this", he told Sky Sports in Belgium.

Ricciardo agreed Honda still needed to prove itself, but said Renault also contained an element of risk and the key factor had been him "wanting to have a change of scenery" after 10 years in the Red Bull family.
