Drake grants birthday wish to little girl awaiting heart transplant

Drake made a young fan's wishes come true when he visted her in hospital in Chicago over the weekend.

It's unclear if KiKi loves Drake - but one thing's for sure. he definitely loved one little girl's "KiKi Challenge", 'cause he made a point to visit her in Chicago.

Lurie Children's Hospital captured the surprise in the featured video above, and Drake also shared photos to his Instagram of their meeting, with Sanchez rocking a Scorpion hat.

Sofia Sanchez, who is being treated at a children's hospital in Chicago, had previously expressed her wish to meet the rapper for her birthday.

Drake did have concerts scheduled in Chicago on August 17 and 18 at the United Centre.

Politico's media critic, Jack Shafer, wrote this week that the coordinated editorial response was sure to backfire. They also wrote that it is "un-American" and "dangerous" to label the media the enemy of the people.

Along with the photo, he posted the caption: "Me and my love Sofia talking about Bieber and owls and basketball".

In a message to the rapper just before her birthday, Sofia said: "This week's my birthday and this week's your concert and I was hoping you could come cheer me up".

The resulting heartfelt moment was captured by the staff at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital, who shared the footage on Instagram. She now requires a heart transplant to survive.

Last week, Sanchez, who is a huge fan of the rapper, posted a video of herself dancing to the viral "Kiki Challenge" (a dancing challenge sparked by Drake's latest chart-topping song "In My Feelings") attached to her IV in a hospital hallway.

Three weeks ago, Sanchez underwent open heart surgery in order to receive a VAD (ventricular assist device) that will help her heart pump blood.
