Bryce Harper wins 2018 MLB Home Run Derby

The record of opportunities for excellence available, yet never fully seized, loomed over Harper's Home Run Derby performance. He later grew up in Keller, Texas where he attended high school. He was drafted by the Oakland Athletics and moved on to play for the Midland RockHounds in 2013 through 2014.

In the final, Schwarber came in just under his total from the semifinals with 18 homers and Harper started off his round slowly, but rallied late and got the tying homer with just a few seconds left. In that bonus time, Harper slugged a 19th homer to take the victory.

Hoskins drove out 17 homers to eliminate Aguilar who hit 12. After Muncy hit 12 home runs in four minutes, Harper went on to smack 13 jacks in less than three minutes to advance.

Nationals slugger Bryce Harper was the favorite to win the 2018 Home Run Derby heading into the event, and with good reason.

Bryce Harper cheated. Or his dad cheated. He put on a show, hitting homers to the second and even third deck at Nationals Park.

Parker joins hometown Bulls, with Bucks' help
It came mere minutes after the Milwaukee Bucks rescinded their qualifying offer to Parker, making him an unrestricted free agent. The Bulls had made two earlier moves, trading Jerian Grant and Julyan Stone in order to free up even more cap space.

With 17, Hoskins tied Muncy for the most in the first round, though Muncy and Harper stopped before time expired because they had already beaten their opponent.

Next, Schwarber edged the Houston Astros' Alex Bregman, 16-15.

Overall, Schwarber hit 55 home runs on the night, launching several of those over 440 feet. Eight hitters competed in a home run bracket featuring a series of head-to-head competitions.

The Cubs' outfielder fell behind early with only two home runs in the first minute of his round.

You may not remember it dating back this far, but Major League Baseball All-Star festivities have included a Home Run Derby since 1985.
