Chelsea "Fires" Antonio Conte With Maurizio Sarri Set To Take Over

Chelsea

Antonio Conte was finally sacked as Chelsea manger today in what was perhaps the least surprising news since Donald Trump announced he was coming to Britain and, in response, Britain chose to construct a giant inflatable orange baby to fly over his head whilst he was traipsing around pretending to look important.

During three years with Napoli, Sarri has not won a major honour but has guided the club to finishes of second, third and second again - behind Juventus in 2017-18.

The BBC said the 48-year-old Italian's two-year reign - which brought league success in 2017 and the FA Cup last season - was ending although they added Chelsea would not comment.

Their president Aurelio de Laurentiis revealed on Wednesday that an agreement was close.

Chelsea are yet to make a move in the summer transfer market, with uncertainty over their management team delaying their dealings.

Should Chelsea spend the money to sack Conte and hire Sarri? The former Empoli manager was named Serie A Coach of the Year in 2016-17.

In the title winning season, the club set a then-record 30 wins in a 38-game Premier League season, as well as a club-record 13 consecutive league victories.

Widespread reports emerged in England and Italy on Thursday that the Blues had dismissed Conte after two seasons in charge.

The club have been keen to get rid of the Italian for a considerable amount of time now and have plans in place for Maurizio Sarri to come in as his replacement.

Everyone seems to know who their new manager is going to be, but Leeds United fans will be far more concerned with the impact that Conte's departure could have on their club.

In May 2016, Musk said he estimated the company would make 100,000 to 200,000 Model 3s during the second half of 2017. China's fast-growing market for new-energy vehicles presents a massive growth opportunity for Tesla.
