Bronte Law four off pace at KPMG Women's PGA Championship

Bronte Law four off pace at KPMG Women's PGA Championship

"It's such a gratifying day". Ryu, who won the ANA Inspiration past year and the U.S. Women's Open in 2011, has had top three results at all five women's majors.

Park, last year's LPGA Rookie of the Year, won her second title of the year after the LPGA Texas Classic in May. Then, playing the par-5 11th - which is reachable in two - Henderson's birdie chip from off the green ran well past the hole, and now she needs a new wedge.

The 19-year-old Hataoka is competing in her first event since winning her maiden LPGA title last Sunday at the NW Arkansas Championship.

All three LPGA major champions this year have been determined in playoffs.

Ryu, who turned 28 on Friday, would have overtaken Park Sung-hyun atop the rankings with a victory after starting the day with a three-stroke lead. Park's 69 included a string of nine straight pars at one point.

The Kiwi holds a share of 11th heading into the final day in IL.

Yet after a hard year, it was Park's day.

On her way to posting 67-71-70-74, Henderson was off her game in the closing round.

Ryu was able to increase her lead to two shots with a birdie on the same hole, but her tee shot on the 17th went into the water.

But the malaise continued when Ko bogeyed the 7th and 8th to turn two over for her round and one under for the tournament.

Lukaku and Hazard likely to miss Group G showdown with injury concern
It was the second-earliest goal scored by a Belgium player at a World Cup after Leopold Anoul scored in the fifth minute in 1954. England will await the result of this match with a great deal of interest with their Group G encounter with Panama on Sunday.

And there was to be plenty of drama over the final three holes.

Ko added further bogeys at the 10th, 17th and 18th to offset just the sole birdie over her back nine, at the par-4 16th.

With Ryu lying on the green, it seemed Park would be fortunate to get away with a bogey.

From the awkward stance, Park chopped one out of the fescue and the ball landed softly to within a few feet of the cup.

Ryu had the right touch on her birdie putts on 14 and 15.

But that lead disappeared on the very next hole, the par-3 17th, where Ryu found water off the tee. She took a double-bogey 6 on the second hole but rallied back with birdies on holes 6 and 7. While she most likely was going to make the team, there was doubt because Hye Jin Choi was one spot behind her in the world rankings and In Kyung Kim was just two spots behind.

Park and Ryu both missed good birdie chances at the final hole of regulation but proved quick learners at the same par-four to start the playoff.

"The tears came today because she understood how hard it was to win this week", Jones said.

Hataoka is 31-under over her last seven rounds. On the seventh, she finished with about a 20-foot putt.
