IO Interactive announce Hitman 2

It was earlier this year the future of the Hitman franchise seemed uncertain as IO Interactive, the series' developer split from Square Enix, becoming an independent studio and taking the IP with it. From sun-drenched streets to dark and unsafe rainforests, nowhere is safe from the world's most creative assassin, Agent 47 in the ultimate spy thriller story.

The full game will also be available four days before its official release for those who preorder the Gold or Collector's editions. Two players can work together online to take down targets, though it also offers a single-player mode.

Agent 47's lethal escapades will continue in Hitman 2, which serves as a direct sequel to IO Interactive's 2016 reboot. Hitman 2 will arrive on November 13th for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. While many suspected that this was simply the announcement of Season 2, the live reveal on June 7 confirmed that this is Hitman 2. Players who pre-order now will get an additional mode they can play starting today that allows them to hunt targets from a distance with friends. The studio has claimed that the sequel will ideal the sandbox assassination gameplay introduced in the last game. The big change is Hitman 2 will no longer be episodic and will release all of the maps at the same time.

The teasing was strong, but fairly obvious as fans waited in anticipation of Warner Bros. promised new game announcement.

Playing with the barcoded Agent 47 has always been a pleasant and amazingly colossal experience. Starting with the groundbreaking and award-winning Hitman series, IO Interactive has since developed the cult classic "Freedom Fighters", the controversial "Kane & Lynch" series and the adorable "Mini Ninjas".

So before some carbon-fibre wire finds its way around my tender windpipe, here's a look at Hitman 2 as players find themselves hunting down the elusive racetrack star Sierra Knox.
