Trump Wants Russia Back in G7 Summit - Here's Russia's Response

On the June 12 summit between US President Donald Trump and North Korea leader Kim Jong Un in Singapore, Bloomberg reported Mr Putin said both Russian Federation and China agreed on the need for peace on the Korean Peninsula.

"You know, whether you like it or not - and it may not be politically correct - but we have a world to run", Trump said.

Mr Xi told media after their meeting that both he and his Russian counterpart felt "the China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership is mature, firm and stable".

Trump's presidency has been clouded by a federal investigation into Russian meddling into the 2016 US election and possible coordination by people in Trump's campaign.

President Donald Trump is calling for Russian Federation to reinstated into the G7 among the world's largest economies.

After an opening day dominated by trade talk, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will shift the G7 conversation to other pressing global issues on Saturday - climate change and empowering women - but at least one leader has opted to skip part of the day's meetings. "I am heading for Canada and the G-7 for talks that will mostly center on the long time unfair trade practiced against the United States".

"I hope that it will happen, at least we are ready for that and I think that the ball is in the USA court", the Russian president stressed.

President Putin likewise praised the ever more intensified trading relations between the two countries and in particular spoke of the importance of this years ratification of a China-Eurasian Economic Union free trading agreement that will come into effect in 2019.

Bloomberg News' Shannon Pettypiece said these arguments have been made to Trump and people close to him have warned about the idea of a summit with Putin.

And he warned it was now the United States, and not "usual suspects" such as Russian Federation, which posed the biggest threat to the current, Western-led worldwide order.

Authorities are advising residents to minimize exposure to those elements to avoid physical irritation. The Civil Defense Agency warned it could cause injury if it got in residents' eyes or was breathed in.

"Looking forward to straightening out unfair Trade Deals with the G7 countries", Trump tweeted early on Friday.

Leaders of the G7 group of nations will continue their meeting in Canada today.

As tempers frayed, Trump had a ready retort, via tweet: "Please tell Prime Minister Trudeau and President Macron that they are charging the USA massive tariffs and create non-monetary barriers".

The issue is certain to be raised when Trump holds separate meeting in Charlevoix on Friday with French President Emmanuel Macron and Trudeau.

Over the course of his presidency, Trump has inflamed allies with his isolationist policies, including withdrawing the United States from the Paris climate accord and the worldwide Iran nuclear agreement.

Sebastian Mallaby, a senior fellow with the Council on Foreign Relations, described the relationships between the USA and the rest of the G-7 as at a "new level of crisis", saying that it was not just about trade but "a general US attitude toward the system".

On the eve of the summit, Trump lashed out on Twitter at Macron and Trudeau, who earlier Friday criticized Trump's trade stance a joint news conference in Ottawa.

Speaking ahead of the two-day event in Canada today, Mr Tusk said this year's summit would be "even more challenging" than 2017's - an event which he had previously billed as the most hard in years.

Trump's deteriorating relationships with Trudeau and Macron - both of whom he has previously lavished with praise - come as the USA finds itself increasingly isolated from key allies over Trump's isolationist policies, including his decisions to pull out of the Paris climate agreement and to withdraw from the Iran nuclear deal.
