Israel has carried out air strikes on Hamas sites

On Tuesday Palestinian militants fired dozens of mortar bombs and rockets into Israel from Gaza, drawing Israeli air strikes.

In a written statement on Saturday, the military said it would investigate al-Najar's death.

In a written statement, Palestine's Health Ministry said Razan Ashraf Najjar, 21, a female paramedic was shot dead by Israeli forces while healing wounded demonstrators in Khan Yunis on Friday.

Imperatively, it has been reported that Al-Najar was wearing her white nurse coat when she was targeted, ruling out the possibility of the incident, being an accident.

Israel's Iron Done defense system intercepted some and others landed inside Gaza.

In a statement published by the Palestinian official news Agency Wafa on Friday, Health Minister Jawad Awwad condemned al-Najar's killing and said it violated worldwide law.

Najjar is a volunteer medic who was shot by IOF as she ran to reach a casualty along the border between Gaza and the occupied territories.

Her funeral on Saturday began in her home town of Khuza'a.

More than 2 million Palestinians live in the narrow coastal enclave living under Hamas rule.

Israel withdrew its troops and settlers from Gaza in 2005, but citing security concerns, maintains tight control of its land and sea borders, which has reduced Gaza's economy to a state of collapse.

It added that the soldiers also stopped a Palestinian ambulance at the scene, and prevented the medics from approaching the Palestinian, before he bled to death.

Rocket sirens were sounded in southern Israel on Saturday evening, likely signalling a launch of projectiles from the Gaza Strip toward Israel.

The Hamas-affiliated Shehab news agency reported that Israel struck sites in Gaza City's Shejaiya neighborhood, in the Nuseirat refugee camp and outside the city of Khan Younis.

The Israeli offensive comes days after the two sides agreed to a ceasefire to end what has been described as the worst hostilities between the Israelis and Palestinians since 2014.

Israeli forces fired tear gas at unarmed Palestinian protesters at Malaka camp in Gaza on June 1, 2018. Three others in her team were also injured. It called for "an immediate worldwide response to Israeli humanitarian law violations in Gaza". The Palestinian Health Ministry said five protesters had been wounded by Israeli fire in response.
