Apple co-founder Wozniak shuts Facebook account in protest of data scandal

Wozniak in an email statement to USA Today said that Facebook makes its profit off of users' private information, but none of that profit is returned to them. He even went on to add that all the profits of Facebook are based on user info but users get nothing in return for it. Facebook's COO Sheryl Sandberg also said previously that the users of the social media giant should pay for their privacy if they didn't want their personal information used for targeted advertising. "Apple only makes its money off of good products, so it can be done". CEO Mark Zuckerberg is set to testify before Congress at a Senate hearing Tuesday and a House hearing on Wednesday about its handling of the Cambridge Analytica case. "Apple has more safe methods to share stuffs about users".

This weekend, Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak joined its numbers.

A cynic might wonder about the timing of Steve Wozniak's comments.

"If our customer was our product, we could make a ton of money", he said, echoing late Apple CEO Steve Job's stance on privacy. He later told USA Today that "users provide every detail of their life to Facebook and ..." To this Cook said, "I wouldn't be in the situation".

Days later, Elon Musk had the Tesla and SpaceX pages removed from Facebook.

Google's former head of search and AI is joining Apple
Salakhutdinov studied at the University of Toronto under Geoffrey Hinton, who helps oversee the Google Brain lab. At the time , he said that more efforts are required to make computers smarter so that they can think better.

WhatsApp co-founder Brian Acton - "who became a billionaire when Facebook purchased his app in 2014", as The Washington Post's Geoffrey A. Fowler noted - made waves last month when he took to Twitter, of all places, to declare: "It is time".

Cook was asked about Facebook chief executive officer Mark Zuckerberg and Cambridge Analytica, the British firm that was hired by then-presidential candidate Donald Trump during the 2016 presidential election.

He further compared privacy rules of the two giants by stating that Apple is committed to user privacy and also questioned Facebook's business model by monetizing user's personal information.

Starting Monday, the 87 million users whose data might have been shared with Cambridge Analytica will get a message in their news feeds.
