Vikings to say goodbye to Case Keenum, Sam Bradford, Teddy Bridgewater

The Arizona Cardinals have found their replacement for Carson Palmer at quarterback.

The mass exodus by the three quarterbacks is logical considering the Vikings are on the verge of signing Kirk Cousins to a three-year, $84 million contract.

Former Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford reportedly intends to sign with the Arizona Cardinals.

They needed a quarterback - desperately - since they didn't have one under contract for 2018 heading into the legal tampering period Monday afternoon that precedes the start of free agency on Wednesday. And now Bradford gets another $20 million this year with the Cardinals. NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported that Bradford has a second-year option at $20 million.

The Vikings didn't see any drop-off from Bradford to Keenum, which made it more likely that they'd move on from the 2010 No. 1 pick. Bradford, who was the Vikings' opening day starter in 2017 before a knee injury essentially ended his season, was one of the top QBs available despite his injury history.

Bradford has a career completion percentage of 62.5-percent. Protecting against the possibility of Keenum being just a one-year wonder, the Broncos chose to give him just a two-year deal and don't regard him yet as their long-term starter. Expect the Cardinals to land a couple more, maybe another veteran and a draft pick.

In no way does this mean the Cardinals themselves are set at quarterback. He suffered two ACL tears in 2013 and 2014. He started 15 games for Minnesota in 2016 but was replaced by Case Keenum, who led the Vikings to the NFC Championship when Bradford went down with a knee injury.

The last time Bradford was healthy for almost an entire season, he was one of the most efficient quarterbacks in the NFL.
