Stokes appeared at the hearing on Monday through video conference and pleaded not guilty along with Ryan Ali and Ryan Hale, who were present at the Bristol Crown Court.

Their trial is set to start on August 6 and last between five and seven days.

Stokes missed the Ashes series after being suspended by England while an investigation took place but the European Central Bank allowed him to return to worldwide... "You will remain on bail as before".

India are set to travel to England and Australia in the latter half of this year after a resounding limited overs series win on foreign soil in South Africa.

England played a one-day global against West Indies in Bristol, hours before the incident happened.

The said incident happened in September which allegedly left a 27-year-old injured - a fractured eye socket.

The England all-rounder has generated plenty of attention since touching down in New Zealand. He is back playing for England in New Zealand, where he is now preparing for the two Test series, and is due to go to the IPL in April before the summer series against Pakistan and India.

He will, however, be able to play for Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League in April and May.

National selector James Whitaker, meanwhile, will vacate his position at the end of the month as part of a major overhaul of player scouting by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).
