Michael Porter Jr. Will Play in SEC Tournament After Back Injury

He suffered a severe back injury in his first game and was expected to miss the rest of the season.

Martin told reporters Wednesday that Porter will finally hit the court again Thursday night when the Tigers play in the second round of the SEC Tournament.

Martin also noted Porter will not start in the game, he will come off the bench.

"It had to be completely up to him to say coach I'm ready to go, I feel good about it", Martin said. The school later announced that he would undergo spinal surgery, a procedure believed to be season-ending. He played two minutes and scored two points before leaving with an injury.

Central Michigan University shooting suspect in custody
Many took to social media to express their concerns about yet another shooting happening at a school. The Davis family is from Plainfield, Illinois, about 35 miles (55 kilometers) southwest of Chicago.

Missouri faces the victor of Wednesday night's Georgia-Vanderbilt game.

The long awaited, long rumored return of Michael Porter Jr. will happen Thursday in the SEC Tournament. "Unless the trainer or Mike says otherwise, he's playing". At the end of Feburary, Porter Jr., was cleared for basketball activities.

Porter has the ability to score at all three levels and if he proves his back is 100 percent healthy, he automatically will be in the conversation to be the No. 1 overall pick along with Deandre Ayton and Luka Doncic. Missouri finished with a 20-11 regular season record without Porter.
