Venom teaser trailer…doesn't actually show much of Venom

Nope and nope. I know it's a teaser trailer, but we should at least get excited for something or given some semblance to a plot.

Brock is the host of an alien symobiote that gives him special powers, like superhuman strength and speed. Last year, Sony Pictures surprised superhero fans by announcing they were developing a live-action Venom movie starring Tom Hardy and directed by Zombieland's Ruben Fleischer.

"I get some people are not quite impressed with the #Venom trailer but its a teaser and the film is still deep in post production work", said one fan.

If you've been waiting to see what the new movie version of Venom will look like - well, keep waiting.

Interestingly, this film will not be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which includes the original Avengers, Doctor Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy, Spider-Man, Black Panther and Ant-Man, and instead will form part of Sony's Marvel Universe. Black veins appear, crawling up his neck, indicating that he is about to turn into Venom. Interestingly enough, it's never really clarified in-teaser that the V stands for Venom (unless you count the poster at the end).

Many users complained about a pay-to-win system that forced DICE to remove the option to buy the in-game currency with real money. Will they ever contain only cosmetic items, as in a game like Overwatch? We saw it continue with Fortnite.

Along with Hardy, the film stars Michelle Williams as Anne Weying, Riz Ahmed as Dr. Carlton Drake, Jenny Slate as Dora Skirth, Scott Haze as Roland Treece and Woody Harrelson in an undisclosed role.

The movie is set for release on October 5, 2018. We got a better look at the character in the Spider-Man 3 trailer, for crying out loud, and Sam Raimi didn't even want him in that movie.

That's right. The one thing drawing fanboys to this flick is Venom himself, even though the character is dangerously being developed outside the parental guidance of Marvel Studios.

The first teaser for "Venom" was dropped Thursday morning. When the Venom symbiote bonds with a human, that new dual-life form refers to itself as "Venom". Share your thoughts in the comment section below!

Look, I'm not saying that Sony should spoil the entire movie in the trailer. The film also appears to be dark toned and a far cry from the bright colours and light tone of Spider-man: Homecoming. As Hardy says in a voice-over, "whatever it was, you used to be one of them".
