Cleveland Cavs Trade Jae Crowder In 3-Team Deal

The Los Angeles Lakers traded power forward Larry Nance Jr. and point guard Jordan Clarkson to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday, part of an afternoon that saw Cleveland reshape its entire roster.

This was a surprising, but not unexpected, move for the Cavaliers.

Pierce didn't approve of having Thomas' tribute video on the same night as his jersey retirement and - after some very public bickering - Pierce won out.

Both Johnson and coach Luke Walton expressed a belief that Thomas and Ball will also work well in tandem. (Cavs GM) Koby (Altman) and I have had enough conversations where it was clear, with the way the system was going, it wasn't beneficial for either party.

Isaiah Thomas is on the Los Angeles Lakers, his third team in less than two seasons.

Ultimately, Isaiah Thomas and Cleveland just weren't a good match.

We like commercials that catch you off-guard, and bonus points to Tide for not releasing this one in advance. And as Pink put it, despite the "gremlins that got [her] into this mess", it doesn't even matter.

Thomas' agent does have one thing right about this trade: Joining the Lakers is a good opportunity for him. That's significant because he's trying to build himself back up after missing the first 36 games recovering from hip injuries.

As a team, the Lakers have shot a league-low 32.3 percent on pull-ups, signaling a void that Thomas could help fill.

To add, while Rose (9.8 points and 1.6 assists per game) and Wade (11.2 points and 3.5 rebounds per game) were solid playmakers in the second unit, Clarkson (14.5 points and 3.3 assists per game) has simply been more productive in a bench role.

Thomas will be an unrestricted free agent this summer, and it will be interesting to see how much money he commands and where he ends up. He drained a 3 and two key free throws down the stretch, but also committed a costly turnover. He's already been traded three times in his career. Once is a mistake, twice is a trend, thrice is an actual issue. The trade I believe complicates matters between Lonzo Ball and Thomas though.

Thomas is now shooting a healthy 46.4 percent on pull-ups, and makes for an intriguing pick-and-roll partner with Julius Randle, who ranks among the NBA's most efficient rolling big men.
