RSS doesn't have women in leadership positions: Rahul

In a tweet, the BJP alleged the Congress government in Meghalaya was mired in corruption.

The party's state unit also tweeted an image of a Burberry jacket, similar to the one that Gandhi wore, having a price tag of $995 (little over Rs 63,000).

Gandhi, who is now on a two-day visit to the north-eastern state, attended a meeting with party leaders in Jowai earlier in the day. In 2015, taking potshots at Mr Modi's "expensive" suit, Mr Gandhi had called the government a "suit-boot ki sarkar". He said in Shillong, "You will not see him (the PM) hug a poor person, talk to a poor person or even engage with a poor person". You mean to say they have not other work and are searching online for the rates of the jackets.

The question: Why is Rahul Gandhi talking so extensively about the Mohan Bhagwat and RSS, not Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP, which is his principal opponent in the state?

When asked whether the Congress will go for any post-poll alliance, Gandhi said "Our approach on alliances is simple". BJP's charge that the jacket was bought with black money drew a sharp reaction from the Congress. Rahul tried to dismiss the controversy by later claiming it was a gift.

" "Home " Nation " USCCB president calls for prayer after pair of school shootings
The school is just a 30-minute drive from Heath High School, home of a 1997 mass shooting which killed three and injured five. Students were seen running down US highway 68, located in front of school, to search for their parents after the shooting .

"Their frustration is directly proportionate to the rising popularity of Rahul Gandhi".

Rahul Gandhi responded positively and Laitumkhrah MLA Ampareen Lyngdoh who was also present on the occasion explained to Gandhi about the problems faced by her in the wake of steep increase in the prices of generic medicines following implementation of Goods and Service Tax.

This is what Rahul said at a program in Saint Edmund's College, Shillong: "If you see a picture of Mahatma Gandhi, you'll find women on this side (right), women on that side (left) and women behind".

Praising the holding of the event since it connected people, particularly the youth, the Congress leader said that it was important that all Indians realised that the country was strong when we loved and respected each other. The senior Congress leader said that she can even show the same jacket for Rs 700.
