Donald Trump Actually Tweeted Against His Own Bill In FISA Rant

He was referring to Obama administration officials wantonly "unmasking" the identities of Trump campaign officials in intelligence reports, which had nothing to do with 702 surveillance.

Congress rejected new limits on surveillance that sweeps in Americans after Donald Trump roiled debate with a series of contradictory tweets assailing a programme his administration is on the record supporting.

WASHINGTON ― Hours after President sent mixed signals on Twitter about a controversial spying program, House lawmakers on Thursday resoundingly voted to reauthorize that program, once again endorsing the collection of information on Americans' electronic communications without a warrant.

And the White House statement Wednesday night going on record against that amendment was a further effort to make it clear Trump supported the bill and not the effort to kill it with major changes. "The government stores those messages in several databases that - because of a loophole - can then be searched and read by government agents who do not first obtain a warrant, even when those communications are written by Americans". Justin Amash and Zoe Lofgren. As the law was originally written, the intelligence community can not use Section 702 to target Americans, who are protected by the Fourth Amendment's prohibition on unreasonable searches and seizures.

The 256 to 164 vote to extend Section 702 allows the government to collect the emails and other communications of foreign targets located overseas from US companies.

Ibuprofen Linked to Men's Fertility Problems
The study shows that ibuprofen use results in selective transcriptional repression of endocrine cells in the human testis. The men were then divided into two groups, 14 in an ibuprofen group and 17 in a placebo group.

Trump attempted to walk back the tweet about 90 minutes later, urging legislators to approve the reauthorization - but top Democrats seized on the confusion to demand the withdrawal of the controversial bill.

The legislation passed 256-164, despite opposition from both sides. This bill doesn't just renew Section 702 for six years; it also codifies permission for the Federal Bureau of Investigation to access and use data secretly collected by Americans for a host of criminal cases that have nothing to do with protecting America from foreign threats. This tweet came shortly after a segment looking into the issue was aired on the Fox and Friends.

"No president should have this power".

The FISA Amendments Reauthorization Act of 2017, to give it its full title, will now pass to the Senate, where Republican senator Rand Paul has threatened to filibuster in an attempt to stop it. On Thursday, White House cyber coordinator Rob Joyce said there have "been no cases of 702 used improperly for political purposes".

After the House approved the renewal, Paul vowed to fight it in the Senate.
