Ezekiel Elliott withdraws appeal, will serve suspension

So now, the Cowboys will be without a key piece of their offense for a little bit longer than just last week, when he missed the game which was a loss to the Atlanta Falcons.

By accepting his suspension, Elliott will officially return to the Cowboys on Christmas Eve, when they take on the Seahawks in Dallas.

Elliott, who was originally suspended on August 11 after a league investigation into domestic violence allegations dating back to 2016, had been using every legal maneuver in the book to try and stay on the field.

In the statement Elliott's agents made it clear he wasn't admitting to any wrongdoing.

"The decision arises from a practical assessment of the current legal landscape", read a statement from Elliott's attorneys sent to Rapoport. Roberts, who was the only person with the league to interview Tiffany Thompson, did not believe Elliott should be penalized by the league.

In the lab, they coupled the H1N1 virus with human antibodies - immune system soldiers that fight off foreign invaders. The eggs are then allowed to incubate, and in turn, this allows the virus to replicate.

But, quarterback Dak Prescott and the rest of the Cowboys' offense will have to figure it out over the course of the next several weeks, because Elliott has decided it's time to stop the fight.

Elliott has already served one game of the suspension.

The NFLPA still has the option to pursue its lawsuit against the NFL even with Elliott accepting the terms of the suspension. Elliott, who has always denied the allegations, appealed. His lawyers and the NFL Players Association said the arbitration process lacked, "fundamental fairness", with Harold Henderson serving as the NFL's hand-picked arbitrator as well as the league's lead investigator, Kia Roberts, not being involved in the meeting with commissioner Roger Goodell that led to the discipline.

The second-year running back is reportedly spending his suspension out of the country to "clear his head". The Cowboys (5-4) have turned to Alfred Morris, Rob Smith and Darren McFadden in Elliott's absence.

The NFL players' union sued on Elliott's behalf and he had been allowed to play in the Cowboys first eight games of the season while the legal process played out in court.
