Canalys: Smartphone Shipments Decline in China, Huawei Remains the Top Smartphone Manufacturer

The tech giant's iPhone sales in China for the third quarter hit 11 million units, up from 8 million units sold during the third quarter of 2016, according to researcher Canalys. Ultimately, Apple believes China sales will return to growth.

APPLE Inc's sales in the Chinese domestic smartphone market jumped 40 percent year on year in the third quarter, ending six consecutive quarters of decline in the world's biggest smartphone market, researcher Canalys said in a report yesterday. And we are now at the peak time of its sales where it has already launched three magnificent devices i.e. iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X. In the United States, however, the iPhone 7 is still popular. "Price cuts on earlier models following the release of the iPhone 8 have also helped".

When Apple reports quarterly earnings later this week, there may be a surprising bright spot: China. She also said that Q4 will be a highly competitive quarter because of the 11.11 online shopping festival. As of late pre-orders for iPhone X began and finished expediently, which could be a bad sign as it is exceptionally surprising for an organization to leave stock in such way.

Gretchen Carlson: 'Horrifying' that Fox would let O'Reilly back on air
O'Reilly reportedly settled a $32 million lawsuit, which the network was aware of when it resigned him earlier this year. . O'Reilly was sacked in April over initial reports of his settlements with five women over similar allegations.

“Despite being touted as widely expensive, excitement for the launch of the iPhone X is building in China”, says Canalys Research Analyst Mo Jia. "The iPhone X will enjoy a healthy grey market status, but its popularity is unlikely to help Apple in the short term", Jia predicted. Jointly, these companies captured 75% of all the devices shipped in China.

Declining shipments have become a major concern for many vendors in China, according to the market analysis firm.

Back at home, things do not look that vivid for Apple as only 16% of the iPhone buyers in the United States opted for the iPhone 8, claimed a recent report from Consumer Intelligence research partners. Additionally, some buyers have even been asked to wait for several weeks, hinting the strong demand that the phone has witnessed, notes the Telegraph.
