Bennett Demands Halt of PA Revenue Transfer as Netanyahu Condemns Reconciliation

Bennett Demands Halt of PA Revenue Transfer as Netanyahu Condemns Reconciliation

This reconciliation appears to be even further along than the 2014 effort, with Hamas willingly disbanding the Gaza government with an eye toward bringing it under control of a unity government, pending an election. The rift has left the Palestinians divided between rival governments in territories located on opposite sides of Israel.

Abbas's Fatah which controls the PA has been re-accepted in enclave at a Tuesday ceremony marking reconciliation between two Palestinian factions. The Cabinet members later went to the offices of each of their ministries to formally assume control from Hamas.

"The whole world is watching the efforts at achieving reconciliation between the leaders of the Palestinian people", El-Sissi said in a recorded speech played during a meeting between his intelligence chief, Khaled Fawzi, and Hamdallah.

Israel has fought three wars with Hamas since 2008. Almost 100 Israelis have been killed and thousands injured.

Al-Tabba' also said businesspeople demanded to end the crises in Gaza Strip, particularly that of the electricity, "which negatively affects life and paralyzes all economic sectors".

Facebook, Google, Twitter invited to testify in Russian Federation probe
Mark Warner (D-Va.) wasn't satisfied with Twitter's presentation Thursday, calling it "frankly inadequate on nearly every level". Moscow denies any such activity and Mr Trump has denied any talk of collusion.

Netanyahu told the Likud faction in Ma'aleh Adumim that as part of its reconciliation the Palestinian Authority must insist on Hamas recognizing Israel, dismantling its military wing and breaking off ties with Iran.

"We will not accept any external power from Hezbollah in the Strip and we will not let any other countries intervene in Palestinian affairs, apart from Egypt", Abbas said Tuesday.

The Trump administration's worldwide negotiations representative, Jason Greenblatt, called on the Palestinians on Monday to recognize Israel and commit to nonviolence, while applauding the Palestinian reconciliation efforts amid the latest round of renewed US-led peace efforts in the region.
