Trump dives into Senate runoff in Alabama at rally for Sen. Strange

Trump tweeted Friday morning: "Luther Strange has gained mightily since my endorsement, but will be very close". And in a state that went heavily for Trump in the primary and general and gave him some of his biggest rally crowds, he's hoping that support for Trump will translate into support for his candidacy with voters.

But Trump says those players are disrespecting the flag, American heritage and what the country stands for.

"He said, 'You've got it. Sir, I was for you right from the beginning, '" Trump said of Strange's ACA repeal stance.

It was released just hours before President Trump was set to take stage in Huntsville for a rally in support of the other Republican in the race, incumbent Sen.

"But no matter what he is ... believe me we're going to handle it", Trump said Friday.

Carson announced his endorsement of Moore in a written statement September 22, the same day Trump was set to travel to Montgomery, Alabama, to speak at a rally for odd.

Carson stopped just short of endorsing Moore, possibly because the federal Hatch Act bars Cabinet secretaries from political activity.

"Judge Moore is a fine man of proven character and integrity, who I have come to respect over the years", added Carson, Politico reported.

However, the president said he would support Moore should he win.

U.S. President Donald Trump is clearly not a fan of the national anthem protests that have been taking place in the NFL over the past year. He discussed his long-promised border wall, called allegations of Russian election meddling a "hoax" and relived his 2016 general election victory at length.

Judge Moore is the type of anti-establishment Republican that the U.S. Senate desperately needs. Luther Strange, ahead of Tuesday's bitter GOP Senate primary.

Still, those at the rally were united in support of Trump, but divided over who should be the state's next senator.

"They finally have a president that will sign the legislation and they don't have the guts to vote for it", he said. "Sometimes I'm informed. It tells me what to care about today, tells me what he's thinking", Scott Adams, creator of the Dilbert comic strip and an early Trump supporter, told CNN's Bill Weir.

One of those was Laura Skipper. The Alabama Supreme Court ruled in favor of the father, and Moore authored a concurring opinion saying there was a presumption the mother was unfit because she was in a relationship with a woman.

As exciting as a presidential visit is for the residents of Northern Alabama, Trump's visit is expected to wreak havoc on local roadways.

Returning to the topic at hand, Trump said, "I really do love the people of Alabama because you've treated me so well", to another burst of applause.

Sen. Luther Strange debates against U.S. Senate candidate Roy Moore on Thursday, Sept. 21, 2017, in Montgomery, Ala.
