Musk Shares SpaceX Blooper Video On How Not To Land Rockets

That's why serial entrepreneur Elon Musk (PayPal, Tesla, SpaceX) released a greatest hits video of his SpaceX rocket failures.

It's uplifting, self-deprecating and just about the best way to spend a couple of minutes of your time.

It is set to the song "Liberty Bell", which is also the Monty Python theme song, helping to infer the light-hearted spirit of the video. Last Thursday, SpaceX marked the twelfth consecutive successful landing attempt for the Falcon 9 rocket, and Musk has chose to celebrate their progress with the most explosion-filled (and expensive) blooper reel you've likely ever seen. SpaceX also launched three missions this year in expendable configuration - which of course means they didn't attempt to land them at all.

And in one hilarious clip, Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX, can be seen examining one of the boosters after it explodes.

There's plenty of humor here as the subtitles cover all the causes of failures, from "sticky throttle valve" to "well, technically it did land. just not in one piece".

Nine Million People Facing Risk of Blackout in Florida
FPL has pre-staged approximately 16,000 people at the Daytona International Speedway awaiting the all clear to deploy and assist. FPL, the biggest power company in Florida, said on its website that more than 1,306,000 customers were without power.

Now, since December 2015, the company has landed a total of 16 rockets, on either a landing platform at sea or its helicopter-like landing pad at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida, turning what was once a jaw-dropping and unprecedented bit of aerial artistry into a somewhat ho-hum, to-be-expected exercise.

In one video shot, Musk looks over a rocket's charred remains with the caption: "It's just a scratch".

As for the second-stage, Musk said that SpaceX might attempt their first recovery during the scheduled Falcon Heavy demo flight this November.

SpaceX may soon have enough successes to make an anti-blooper reel.
