ESPN's Jemele Hill: Trump Is A 'White Supremacist' And Unfit For Office

ESPN then came out and apologized for Hill's tweets not because ESPN believes she's wrong, but because ESPN is owned by Disney and Disney doesn't play that shit.

But if Jemele Hill comes out and says that Donald Trump's a white supremacist - the only reason he got elected president is because he's white and that all of his supporters are effectively bigots - she gets rewarded. In August, ESPN pulled an announcer named Robert Lee from broadcasting a University of Virginia football game in Charlottesville, just days after a protest by white supremacists over the removal of a statue of Confederate general Robert E. Lee. Conservative media outlets, including the Federalist, the Daily Caller and Breitbart, criticized her, suggesting that ESPN would have fired Hill if she made similarly inflammatory remarks about liberal politicians.

The network alluded to disciplinary action, but did not provide any details. The network issued a statement Tuesday that Hill's comments "do not represent the position of ESPN". The issue was explored on two prominent programs on Fox News, "Tucker Carlson Tonight" and "Fox & Friends".

"I'm not sure he's aware of it", press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said during Wednesday's briefing with reporters.

"I think that is one of the more outrageous comments that anyone could make", Sanders said.

England players and fans must lift each other - Southgate
Several thousand supporters were left stranded outside Wembley for the start of England's World Cup qualifier against Slovakia . In the last five games, England has two wins, two loss, and one draw whereas Slovakia has three wins and two loses.

Some Trump critics said they were disturbed by Sanders' talk of a "fireable offense". What is concerning is that the White House felt the need to comment too! "Take that in", MSNBC's Joy Reid wrote.

Hill did not respond to a message from The News seeking a comment. Neither did an ESPN spokesman.

ESPN anchor Jemele Hill is the latest on-air personality at the network to be embroiled in controversy thanks to social media commentary that went beyond sports.

Her series of tweets began on a retweet of an article from The Hill about Kid Rock.

ESPN's statement has largely been seen as the network pandering to its white, right wing base, an idea that folks on Twitter didn't mince words expressing.
