'Star Wars: Episode IX' loses writer/director Trevorrow over movie vision

A list of directors who've come and gone through the Star Wars universe, all signed because they were reasonably young and hip, most with blockbusters under their belt, and all canned when their new-era vibe crashed into Lucasfilm's (let's be honest, well-established and reasonably successful) plans. Colin has been a contributor extraordinary during the development of the film, but we came to the conclusion that our visions of the projects were not compatible. "We wish Colin the best and will be sharing more information about the film soon".

Rian Johnson spoke to Empire about the choice of a clean casino in the middle of the movie and the director had some interesting reasons for choosing the location. Stars Wars: Episode XI is pencilled in to arrive in cinemas on 24 May 2019, with The Last Jedi hitting our screens later this year. In June, its president Kathleen Kennedy fired Christopher Miller and Phil Lord as directors of a coming Han Solo spin-off movie - even though filming had already started - and hired Ron Howard as their replacement.

Disney issued a statement on Tues., Sept. 5, that said "Lucasfilm and Colin Trevorrow have mutually chosen to part ways on Star Wars: Episode IX". Most damningly, he made 2016's The Book of Henry, which was apparently worse than Fantastic Four and made 98% of Star Wars Twitter think THIS IS THE GUY WHO'S HANDLING THE DEATH OF PRINCESS LEIA?

The ninth film in the space saga was due to have starred Fisher and her character General Leia Organa, but Fisher's unexpected death past year derailed those plans.

Cardinals trade Leake to Mariners for minor league shortstop
Leake has been one of the most durable starters in the National League but has not been at his best since the All-Star break. The Mariners and Cardinals are both now on the periphery of their leagues' Wild Card races.

News of the decision sparked a frenzy of speculation on social media over who might be handed Trevorrow's job, as well as plenty of pithy barbs on the high turnover of Lucasfilm directors.

Lucasfilm has said it would not digitally recreate Fisher's likeness in future films.

Jurassic World's Colin Trevorrow was confirmed on Tuesday to no longer being taking on the ninth instalment of the Star Wars franchise.

"The Last Jedi", the next film in the "Star Wars" franchise, directed by Rian Johnson, opens on December 15. Played by Andy Serkis in the film, two new images of the character have made their way online, one from the Star Wars Trading Card app and the other from a series of Star Wars stamps set to debut in the United Kingdom in October (via BBC).
