Tottenham rival Leicester City for transfer of Manchester City's Kelechi Iheanacho

Tottenham rival Leicester City for transfer of Manchester City's Kelechi Iheanacho

Tottenham could be set to hijack Leicester City's move for Man City striker Kelechi Iheanacho, in order to speed up Kyle Walker's potential move to the Citizens, according to the Sun.

With City's constant pursuit of Spurs right-back Kyle Walker, the Sun are reporting that City could be set to offer Iheanacho to Spurs in a player-plus-cash deal for the England worldwide.

Despite the outline of an agreement being in place, Leicester are not the only side keen on Kelechi, with Spurs, Borussia Dortmund and Monaco also among his admirers.

However if Leicester are able to qualify for the Champions League during Iheanacho's first your years at the club, and City want to exercise their buy back option, a fee of £50m has been agreed between both parties.

City have so far fought off competition for Iheanacho from other clubs, including West Ham, and it looks like Leicester are the favourites to sign the 20-year-old worldwide.

Iheanacho was pictured on Monday returning to Manchester City for pre-season along with his teammates.

The report suggests that incorporating Iheanacho as part of the Walker transfer could well help Tottenham and City agree on a fee for the right-back.

But after a disappointing season in which the former CR Belouizdad striker scored just eight goals, Leicester are reportedly looking to cut their loses and move for the precocious Man City forward.
