Private plane disappeared in the Bermuda triangle

A private plane carrying four people, including two children, has disappeared while flying through the infamous Bermuda Triangle.

The twin-engine MU-2B lost contact with air traffic control on its way from Puerto Rico to Titusville, Florida.

On board were Jennifer Blumin, 40, who headed up event management firm Skylight Group, her boyfriend, 52-year-old pilot Nathan Ulrich, as well as Ms Blumin's four-year-old son Phineas and two-year-old son Theodore.

Ulrich's last radio transmission allegedly indicated that the plane was traveling at about 500 knots, at an altitude of around 24,000 feet.

The US Coast Guard said there was "no indication" of bad weather when the plane went missing.

The Coast Guard Cutter Bernard C. Webber was assisting, along with the Customs and Border Patrol and the Royal Bahamas Defense Force, the Coast Guard said.

Mr Ulrich's father told The New York Post through tears, "I'm afraid it's a little hard to talk about it".

That announcement early Sunday corrects an earlier statement in which Trainose had put the number of dead at four, with 5 injured. A 24-year-old man who lived in the building reportedly jumped off a balcony to safety just before impact.

Blumin was founder and CEO of Skylight Group, which provides event space around New York City, specialising in the fashion industry.

The pilot of the plane, Nathan Ulrich, used to be married to The Colour Purple actress Rae Dawn Chong. Chong, daughter of comedian and actor Tommy Chong, is known for her roles in "The Color Purple" and "Commando".

As of 2015, Blumin was living in Tribeca with her husband James Ramsey, a principal of the design studio Raad.

"That environment, though, is sterile and has nothing to do with brand identity. We create mystique, and help them spread it virally". Coast Guard spokesman Lt. Cmdr.

Ulrich, owns Xootr LLC, which makes scooters and is also the technical director of Radon Sport LLC, which works on race cars, according to his LinkedIn page.

Media jumped on the reports of the missing plane, owing to the fact it had disappeared in the Bermuda Triangle, which has a history of mysterious disappearances.

Scientists have claimed the stormy blasts can flip ships into the ocean and bring planes crashing down into the sea.
