Minnesota police department puts out hilarious 4/20 'preparations' tweet

With the high holiday in mind, a police department in central Minnesota (where marijuana remains illegal) said it has established "undercover operations" and "discreet traps" throughout its city Thursday.

The photo received more than 120,000 likes and more than 77,000 retweets, as the department said they hoped their posts would bring attention to the issue of substance abuse. As you may know, April 20, or 4/20, corresponds with a numerical code for marijuana.

The department received similar attention a year ago when its Twitter post was of "munchies" being used as a trap under a cardboard box propped up with a stick.

Vancouver Canucks fire head coach Willie Desjardins after disappointing season
Willie Desjardins was sacked by Vancouver on Monday after missing the postseason for the second consecutive season. The power play and penalty-kill were also disasters, ranked 29th and tied for 28th, respectively.

The lesson here apparently is if you see Doritos and Mountain Dew and Grand Theft Auto just laying around, you might want to look around for an officer poised to net you. "Discreet traps have been set up throughout the city today".

Police ended the post with #Happy420.

"All jokes aside, substance abuse is a real issue". Last year, the WPD set up a similar scene in which it made fun of attempting to catch pot smokers.
