Temperatures will be near record limits again Friday and Saturday but an approaching cold front Sunday will bring more seasonable temperatures and rain to the area. Lows falling down into the 10's and 20's with gusty winds early on and then simmering down during the wee hours of the morning.

View the current weather conditions at The Washington Post. A front passing through late Saturday afternoon will lead to scattered showers and storms. Southwest wind 6 to 9 miles per hour.

Friday night: Showers and thunderstorms likely. Cloudy, with a high near 67. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 54.

Wednesday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. Expect partly sunny skies. Thursday night, partly cloudy, with a low around 63. Highs Monday should have no problem reaching the lower and middle 70s after morning lows in the middle and upper 50s. West wind 7 to 15 miles per hour. Rain chances climb for the start of next week.

Our summer-like weather pattern continues as high pressure in the Western Atlantic keeps us mostly rain free, although a weak weather disturbance could set off a few afternoon showers in West Alabama.
