Fitbit Smartwatch Release Date Reportedly This Fall

The fitness tracker company's smartwatch project was supposed to be released in the spring, but production problems have forced Fitbit to push the launch to the autumn.

The company's first proper smartwatch will be accompanied by its first pair of Bluetooth headphones.

Ensuring that the smartwatch is fully waterproof has also been a struggle and sources indicate that it is not guaranteed that the Fitbit device will be launched with the feature. A fall release will also be coming at a time when Apple is expected to be launching its Series 3 smartwatch and this will mean divided attention for Fitbit's product.

In addition, "the Global Positioning System wasn't working because the antennae wasn't in the right place", sources said. If it isn't waterproof, critics may perceive it to be an inferior product to Apple's - especially given that the device will launch roughly a year after the Apple Watch Series 2. The Fitbit earphones "will hang around your neck" and launch alongside the new smartwatch in two colors called "Nightfall Blue" and "Lunar Gray".

Fitbit has declined to comment on these new leaks but James Park, Fitbit CEO confirmed earlier this year the company is working on a smartwatch. It is also expected to have a full colour display, GPS, a heart rate monitor, onboard storage to play music from Pandora (presumably there will be some sort of worldwide equiavelent as Pandora is only available in the US) and four-day battery life.

Thunder's Russell Westbrook notches 41st triple-double, ties Oscar Robertson
He had his streak of seven consecutive triple-doubles snapped a night after he tied Oscar Robertson's record of 41 triple-doubles. Cold shooting and porous defense caused the Milwaukee Bucks a humiliating defeat at the hands of the Thunder on Tuesday night.

You might have to wait for a while before you get to try out Fitbit's first smartwatch which is reportedly in the works. Several employees who saw the design complained about it, the source said.

Yahoo Finance viewed the presentation deck Fitbit showed retail partners like Best Buy (BBY) and Target (TGT) behind closed doors.

It was very retro-looking with the lines and stuff - definitely not sexy.

We know there is a lot of interest in our entry into the smartwatch category.
