Seattle Mayor Hit by Sex-Abuse Allegations

Seattle Mayor Hit by Sex-Abuse Allegations

Murray, who is running for re-election this year, denies the allegations. Murray was 32 years old at the time.

Court documents released on Thursday reveal more of D.H.'s story. Murray was appointed Simpson's resource parent, according to Simpson, and Simpson said he later went to live with Murray. He says he was a 16-year-old runaway in OR when Murray paid him for sex several times, about $15-30.

A lawsuit accuses Seattle's mayor of sexually molesting a teenage high-school dropout in the 1980s, and in interviews with The Seattle Times, two other men claim he also abused them. He previously served 18 years in the Washington State Legislature, representing the 43rd District.

The suit filed in King County Superior Court alleges Murray sexually abused the teen on a number of occasions, beginning in 1986, for payments of $10 and $20. But before that, he is offering his client - referred to as D.H.in court documents - for deposition as soon as next week. The alleged victim said he is coming forward now because of the recent death of his father and because he is now undergoing counseling and participating in addiction-recovery programs, the Seattle Times reports. He says being honest is "part of a "healing process" after years of 'the shame, the embarrassment, the guilt, the humiliation that I put myself through and that he put me through'".

The alleged rape victim, via his attorneys, said filing the rape allegations lawsuit was not at all politically motivated, KIRO7 reports.

Simpson, 49, said he first met Murray when he was six-years-old living in an orphanage.

This option was partly driven by the way people are watching video online now - text only, no audio - which makes sense. But since it's primarily meant for voiceovers, it only worked when I used the front-facing camera, not the main one.

"D.H.is disturbed that Mr. Murray maintains a position of trust and authority, and believes that the public has a right to full information when a trusted official exploits a child", the suit says.

The lawsuit states that the plaintiff's attorney intends to depose Murray within 90 days, and that "D.H. believes that it will be hard, if not almost impossible for Mr. Murray to deny the abuse" and that "D.H. would be shocked if Mr. Murray does not recall exactly who he was". Simpson said he wouldn't hesitate to help the plaintiff in this case, known only as "D.H".

"'I would really like for him to admit it and to take responsibility", Simpson told media recently. Their stories, as reported in The Seattle Times, are similar to the tale told in the recent lawsuit - troubled youth who entered into sexual relationships with Murray.

No criminal charges have been filed; the statute of limitations has passed for a criminal rape charge to be filed.

Jeff Reading, a personal representative for the Seattle mayor, blames the two older child rape accusations on "extreme right-wing anti-gay activists" upset about Murray's push to legalize gay marriage in the state. He is married to his longtime partner, Michael Shiosaki, who also works for the city. The mayor has denied all allegations, according to his personal spokesman Jeff Reading.
