Bill Gates Tops Forbes' Rich List Again While Trump Falls 220 Spots

The list, a snapshot of wealth taken on February 17 based on stock prices and exchange rates to calculate net worth, was released Monday and saw former Microsoft founder Bill Gates at the No. 1 spot for the fourth straight year at $86 billion.

Amazon's Jeff Bezos, who ranks third, seems to have had the best year among everyone on the list, with his fortune jumping by $27.6 billion in 2016 to $72.8 billion.

Microsoft co-founder and philanthropist Bill Gates has defended his title as richest man in the world yet again, meaning that he has now taken the Forbes' top spot for four consecutive years.

There were also 195 newcomers to the Billionaire List, including United States hedge fund tycoon Cliff Asness, co-founder of AQR Capital Management, and two of his partners John and Patrick Collison.

The total net worth of all billionaires put together rose to $7.67 trillion- an increase of about 18%- setting a record in Forbes' Billionaire Lists.

San Miguel Corp.'s vice chairman, president and chief operating officer Ramon Ang and chairman Eduardo Cojuangco Jr. were also included in the Forbes billionaires list with a net worth of $1.4 billion and $1.2 billion, respectively.

Kumar Mangalam Birla, an Indian industrialist and the chairman of the Aditya Birla Group, is at number 133 on Forbes' billionaire list.

Coming off a 1,000-yard season in 2015, Murray became part of a three-man backfield with De'Andre Washington and Jalen Richard . Though not a literal trade, Peterson in Oakland and Latavius Murray in Minnesota would in effect be exactly that.

Buffett and Bezos this year passed Amancio Ortega, founder of the Spanish clothing chain line Zara, who dropped from No. 2 to No. 4 with $71.3 billion.

More than 30 of the world's billionaires call Palm Beach home, some of whom made their wealth - and spent it - in real estate. With total assets of $1.2 billion, Thảo ranks 1,678th on the list.

In his presidential campaign, Trump acclaimed that he was worth 8.7 billion dollars, then "in excess" of 10 billion dollars in a personal financial disclosure form.

Glen Taylor's wealth ticked up this year, with Forbes estimating his worth at $1.9 billion. This represents an impressive 13 percent growth on the previous year, and marks the biggest increase in the number of billionaires in the 31-year history of the magazine's list. He has featured on the billionaires' list 18 times over the past 23 years.

Much of the decline in Trump's finances is caused by the softness in the midtown Manhattan real estate market, according to Forbes.

Additionally, 20 billionaires died in the past year, including Enterprise vehicle rental founder Jack Taylor and Michael Ilitch, who launched Little Caesar's pizza with his wife, Marian.
