Microsoft introduces $10 Xbox Game Pass monthly subscription service

Microsoft introduces $10 Xbox Game Pass monthly subscription service

Publishers in the mix for Xbox Game Pass include 2K, 505 Games, Bandai Namco Entertainment, Capcom, Codemasters, Deep Silver, Focus Home Interactive, Sega, SNK, THQ Nordic GmbH, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Microsoft Studios have all signed on to the project and will be providing games for the service.

For new Xbox One owners, Xbox Game Pass looks like the ideal way to dive into the system's library. When it comes to perks, subscribers will get discounts for their Xbox One game purchases and add-ons. As a result of fans expressing concern over unreliable internet connections, Microsoft has decided that games from the Xbox Games Pass library will be downloaded to your console for a "native, full-fidelity gaming experience".

Game Pass holders will also be able to purchase every single game in the catalog for a discounted price, allowing them to add titles to their permanent library on the cheap. The service will be available on Xbox One and Windows 10 devices and give you access to a catalog of over 100 games at launch.

Phil Spencer just announced Xbox Game Pass. For everyone else, Game Pass will be coming "later this spring". If you're willing to fork over for an entire year of PS Now, the $100 annual fee actually comes out to less per month than the Xbox service.

We'll update this story as new details become available.

"Iran should be careful", Trump warns
Trump's travel ban is also a source of tension - Iran was one of the seven Muslim-majority countries included in the ban. One of the many points of disagreement: Some among the Islamic theocracy do not accept Israel's right to exist.

When it comes to digital subscriptions and games-as-a-service, Sony is in its relevant infancy.

Subscription game services are not a new concept, although things like OnePlay, and particularly PlayStation Now, have their critics.

Each game is fully downloaded rather than streamed.

The program will be launching in the spring, but Xbox is giving select Insider preview members access first. Head down to the comments section and let us know! The service isn't being rolled out to all users right now; instead, it's being made available to Xbox Alpha testers with only a few titles for testing and feedback.
