Zverev beats Gasquet to win France title

"It's a great achievement for me to win three titles here", said Estrella Burgos.

Alexander Zverev won his second career ATP Tour title with a 7-6 (4), 6-3 win over three-time defending champion Richard Gasquet in the finals of the Open Sud de France.

The 19-year-old German denied home favourite a third straight title with a 7-6 (7-4) 6-3 success before teaming up with older brother Mischa to defeat Fabrice Martin and Daniel Nestor in the doubles final later in the day.

Zverev, with a stinging forehand victor backed up by several strong serves, allowed him to open an early lead in the tiebreak.

Zverev broke the Frenchman's serve once in each set with the decisive break in the eighth game of the second set, before serving out the match.

The fourth-seeded Zverev was solid against the third-seeded Gasquet, winning 80 percent of his points on first serve and hitting eight aces.

Water begins to spill over Oroville emergency spillway
The partial collapse of the spillway at the Lake Oroville dam is sending blankets of dirt and debris into the hatchery. Use of the emergency spillway would only increase damage to the hatchery, Morse said.

Next up for Gasquet is unseeded Benoit Paire, who won his opening game before Germany's Dustin Brown was forced to retire from the match because of a lower-back injury.

"He broke me quickly at the beginning of the match". He hits the ball really hard on both sides and has a pretty incredible service.

Zverev unleashd one last strong serve that Gasquet couldn't handle to seal the 7-6 (4), 6-3 victory.

Gasquet, ranked 22, has never before faced Zverev, who is ranked 21.

The powerful third seed dropped just one set this week and now has two titles under his belt in 2017 after seeing off Goffin, who was broken five times.
