Relaunch of Galaxy Note 7 in South Korea delayed

Relaunch of Galaxy Note 7 in South Korea delayed

Several Samsung Galaxy Note 7's lay on a counter in plastic bags after they were returned to a Best Buy on September 15, 2016 in Orem, Utah. Samsung's financial bottom line has been hit hard by the Galaxy Note 7 battery issue.

As stated in a report from Reuters, the move is "needed for speedy completion of the ongoing recall in the country".

Samsung said that although there have only been a small number of reported incidents involving the Galaxy Note 7's battery, it is taking great care, and working with national regulatory bodies to give customers the necessary support.

Technically, the Galaxy Note 7 was supposed to go on sale in Europe on September 2, but that was the same day Samsung announced its voluntary global recall of the handset and stopped sales of the phone.

The Wall Street Journal reports that some customers who have received replacement devices over the past week are complaining that the phones overheat and quickly lose battery power - even while being charged. In the USA, the Federal Aviation Administration told air passengers not to switch on or charge a Note 7 during a flight nor store them in the hold luggage.

The smartphone caught fire causing minor injuries to two of his fingers and to his Apple MacBook. Samsung's own numbers show that about 10% of Note 7 owners globally have opted to keep their defective devices rather than return them. Samsung issued a global recall and now it seems there is a problem with the replacement gadgets.

This latest problem comes days after Samsung admitted that just half of fiery Galaxy Note 7s in the U.S. have been returned for replacement. And to be very precise, the recent battery controversy has already lessened the Samsung's reputation and the share price.

Do you think Samsung would still be able to recover from this issue with their Galaxy Note 7?
