Is Samsung About To Buy Out TIDAL?

According to Tip, his decision to rock with TIDAL was much deeper than Jay's involvement.

Tidal was launched on March 30 2015, offering a "better service and experience for the user and the artist". How we wish that would've been true.

According to The NY Post, Samsung, who already has a long standing relationship with TIDAL founder Jay Z - remember he changed the rules when he dropped Magna Carta Holy Grail via Samsung exclusively - is open to re-discussing purchasing the 16-month old company.

"Samsung is re-engaging; they are working on something really big, and they're keeping it very quiet in case it leaks", said a source involved in Samsung's talks with Tidal. It also paid Rihanna, a Tidal partner, $28 million to sponsor her latest album and tour.

Meanwhile, the streaming service, which is partly owned by artists including Beyoncé, Nicki Minaj, J. Cole, and Madonna, has declined to comment publicly.

However, TIDAL didn't seem phased by the accusations, and immediately responded with vehement denial of coming up short on its responsibilities.

Horrific scenes in Moscow today as a woman ran through the streets with the severed head of a child that was in her care . CCTV vision shows the woman, who is believed to be a nanny, dressed in a hijab holding the child's head in her hands.

When Jay Z revealed his purchase of TIDAL, he kicked off a streaming service battle that now includes Spotify and Apple Music.

So, if the Samsung rumors are true - we can't count Tidal off the list of Jay Z's 99 Problems.

However, the fact that Kanye chose not to expand distribution of The Life of Pablo outside of the service caused the number of subscribers of the service to double from 1 million to 2.5 million and counting since the release of the album two weeks ago.

"The pressure is definitely on", a source told the Post.

The Post's sources didn't reveal the amount Samsung would be willing to pay for Tidal. And while Yesh Music has yet to file a lawsuit against Spotify, a class action led by former Cracker frontman David Lowery alleged $150 million in damages against the streamer, a situation which has yet to be resolved.
