UMW Toyota issues recall for Toyota RAV4

The carmaker has taken this step after two reported incidents in which the rear seat belts of the auto separated after a crash. The models that Toyota is recalling are the 2006-2012 RAV4 and the 2012-2014 RAV4 EV.

According to publications, in the first phase 15,000 vehicles will be recalled in Norway, 98,000 in Australia and 13,000 in New Zealand.

The global recall covers Toyota Motor's RAV4 SUVs produced between July 2005 and August 2014 and sold worldwide, and its Vanguard SUVs produced between October 2005 and January 2016 and sold in Japan.
