Pakistan wants police to probe suspects over attack in India

Pakistan has formally registered an FIR in Pathankot airbase attack case, as part of ongoing investigation into terrorist attack that killed four personnel of Indian military on January 2 this year.

The report, quoting the Counter-Terrorism Department spokesperson, also said a formal investigation into the attacks was also launched following the FIR and a joint investigation team will probe the attack and those responsible will be brought to trial.

FIR number 06/2016 was registered in the CTD police station Gujranwala under sections 302, 324 and 109 of the Pakistan Penal Code, and sections 7 and 21-I of the Anti-Terrorism Act, the CTD spokesman said.

The latest intelligence input comes on a day when a Pakistani panel recommended to lodge an FIR against JeM chief Maulana Masood Azhar in the Pathankot attack case.

India has identified Azhar as the mastermind behind the attack.

LeBron, Love power Cavaliers over Bulls
It is clear that the Celtics want an upgrade to their frontline and getting Love or Horford will certainly make that happen. The Detroit Pistons are nipping at everyone's heels in ninth place right now, but they are only one game behind the Bulls .

The deputy director of the Interior Ministry, Aitzaz-uddin, is main complainant of the FIR, the report claimed, adding that no arrest has been made by the police so far. It has also blamed his brother Rauf and five others for carrying out the attack.

Foreign secretary level talks between the countries were also postponed after the incident, however, the Foreign Office on Thursday urged India to announce date of dialogue at earliest.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to meet his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif in United States in March. "India, especially, should not doubt our resolve and honesty", he said.

However, it is yet not clear if the Indian side has been communicated about the possibility of the registration of an FIR. Sources said that his interrogation would take place after the FIR is registered.

Last month, CTD police Gujranwala had presented three JeM militants before an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) for possessing jihadi literature.
